"All Hail The Risen Lord."
And as they went Jesus met them saying, "All hail." These are the first recorded words
of the resurrected Lord to his followers.
All Hail !! Literally: Grace to the full. Rejoice to the full.
What a thrill of emotion must have welled up in those pent up hearts. Everything changed in
that joyous moment. Life took on a new purpose! Hope burst into flame again! Jesus Christ
was alive!
The resurrection of Jesus Christ has made the difference between a bitter, cold, dark night
for the soul of man, and the joy and light, song and music, of his infinite grace. The
striking thing about the disciples is that we never read of them visiting the tomb again.
Why should they? There was nothing there. They had the living Saviour with them. In fact not
one person met him in the tomb. Death and all that pertained to it were left behind and a
whole new mission now took control of their lives.
Where did they Meet Him?
Mary Magdalene met him in the garden. John 20 verse 15.
The women met him in the city. Matthew 28 verse 9
The two disciples met him on the road to Emmaus. Luke 24.
The disciple group met him in the house that Easter Day evening. John 20 verse 19.
The believers met him in the mountain at Galilee. Matthew 28 verse 7.
Saul met him on the Damascus road. Acts 9
What is the Spirit of God saying to us at this Easter season? It is possible to meet the
living Christ where ever his people are gathered together in his Name.
How did He greet them?
All Hail!! The words are as glorious as a cloudless morning. The failures and the faults are
as buried as the grave clothes. Indeed Peter was specifically mentioned by the Lord to be
told that Christ was risen. Perhaps someone reading this message feels a failure. You have
denied him before men and now you wonder if he can be gracious to you again. Take courage
as you see the grace shown to Peter. Look what he became to the early church and the whole
work of God throughout Christian history. The risen Christ comes to you, not in the
austerity of a judge, but in the graciousness of a friend.
How did they treat Him?
Matthew 28 verse 9 says they came and held him by the feet. They worshipped Him. Yes they
had forsaken and fled from him before that dark day of crucifixion. How many of us once ran
from him but now we worship at his feet. His risen life has become our life. His resurrection
power has become our strength. His risen presence has become our inward companionship. His
risen joy has become our joy.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ which according to his abundant mercy
hath begotten us to a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..... 1
Peter 1 verse 3.
Streams of radiant life pour forth from the empty tomb filling the future with a boundless
hope. Let us go forth to tell the message to a lost and dying world. We have the one message which
the world needs to hear.
Happy and glorious Easter to all our readers. Jesus Christ is alive. Hallelujah!
